Whatever is the purpose of your China visit do not forget to check if you need visa to enter the country. As tip of advise is that regularly the embassies of China issue the visa with single entry and if you are planning to visit the neighbour Hong Kong or Macau your visa will be no longer able to provide you an entry back to the country. That's why better apply for a multi entry visa.
